Social control is the right and the duty of citizens to participate, individually or through their organizations, social networks, and institutions, in the oversight of public management and its results in accordance with the applicable regulations and the correct use of public resources and assets.

CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEES
These are democratic mechanisms that allow citizens and civil organizations to exercise oversight over public management, in accordance with Articles 270 of the Constitution and 100 of Law 134 of 1994. Their objective is to strengthen social control, monitor public management, and participate in decision-making.
